Palm Desktop Install Tool

These are some some general steps to take to install the software using the Palm Install Tool which came with the Windows version of the Palm Desktop organizer software. Please refer to the handbook which came with your Palm OS organizer for specific, detailed, and up-to-date procedures on installing software.

Open Install Tool
Often double-clicking on the icon for the PRC, PDB, or PNC file will launch this application. If it does not, you can open the Install Tool from the Palm Desktop application (go to the "View" menu and select "Install").

Select User
In the drop-down list at the top of the Install Tool dialog-box, select the name which corresponds to your organizer. Typically there will be only one name unless you are synchronizing multiple Palm OS devices with your desktop computer.

Add the software
Often dragging the icon for the PRC, PDB, or PNC file will add the software to the list of applications to install on your Palm OS organizer. If it does not, you can click the "Add..." button and select the file using the Open dialog-box. Click the "Done" button to close the dialog-box.

Synchronize
Perform a HotSync operation as described in the handbook which came with your Palm OS organizer. After the HotSync has completed, the software will be available on your Palm OS organizer.
